It is our honor to welcome Casa Vieja Lodge as another great Gray FishTag Research Center.
Led by Mr. David Salazar and Mrs. Kristen Salazar this incredible lodge will be an amazing addition the Gray FishTag Research program. Casa Vieja Lodge is a world-renowned fishing lodge located in Guatemala. The newly renovated lodge was built over twenty years ago as the private retreat to one of Guatemala’s most prominent sportfishing families. Many of the lodge’s staff and Captains are pioneers in the pacific sportfishing industry. Today, sportfishing enthusiasts and professionals from around the globe come to enjoy the amazing fishing and 5-Star amenities.
Having Casa Vieja Lodge join our program is exciting news for many reasons and we are looking forward to working with the first-class Captains and crews and of course lodge owners Mr. and Mrs. Salazar. From a geographical aspect this is very important to our work. The Lodge’s location will allow us to work, fish and tag in new territories and covering most of the Central American Pacific coast. Together, we will be able to target the same species that we’ve been focusing on through our existing Research Centers in Cost Rica and Mexico. Quite possibly we may be able to follow the same fish migrating up from Costa Rica. We are looking forward to implementing these studies and tagging expeditions and combined with all the existing work, we are now covering a large and very important geographical region. This will result in more data allowing us ALL to learn more than ever about our sought-after species.
Welcome to the GFR family Casa Vieja!
