This fish was named in honor of Barry Gibson, longtime editor & chief of Saltwater Sportsman, highly regarded writer, conservationist, recreational charter captain sailing out of Boothbay, ME, and my good friend. He passed after a two year battle with cancer the day the fish was caught. Having this fish swimming with his name connected with it is a fitting tribute to a great fisherman and wonderful human being.
