ADDITIONAL REMARKS: Tag was removed fish released without a new tag. My son 11-year old son Charlie caught this beautiful striped bass while fishing the Southwest Ledge of Block Island with my friend, Captain Greg Snow of Snowfly Charters. Greg is pictured with my son – wish it was me! This fish exceeded the 48″ tape along the side of the boat and we estimated it at approximately 50″. We did not weigh the fish to avoid stressing it, and our scale only went up to 30 pounds anyway. It was caught on a small soft plastic lure to mimic the 3″ sand eels the bass were feeding on. She was released quickly and appeared very healthy.
